Enda Kenny would be known forever as the Abortion Taoiseach
Youth Defence have said that Enda Kenny would be forever known as the Abortion Taoiseach, and that Fine Gael, having actively courted the pro-life vote in the last election, were now seen to be whipped on the issue by abortion extremists in the Labour Party. Spokeswoman Clare Molloy said that the organisation would now work to ensure that voters were aware that Fine Gael's legislation was opening the door to abortion on demand, and to raise up widespread opposition and direct action on the proposal."Enda Kenny's claim that this this legislation is restrictive is seriously undermined by the experience of other countries, such as Britain where mental health clauses were roundly abused," she said. "The draft heads state that it is not an offence to take action "as a result of which unborn human life is ended", an important distinction since current medical practice is to act to save the life of the baby where possible, and the death of the child is a side effect of treatment. To end life deliberately is a different matter altogether and makes abortionists out of Irish doctors who are committed to saving lives," she pointed out.
Don't follow the failures of other countries
Pro-life activists are today staging witnesses outside Irish embassies in London and Washington DC in support of the Irish people who are under threat of abortion legislation being undemocratically foisted on them.
Ireland's leading pro-life activists have reported that in a weekend of abortion protests following a ruling of the European Court of Human Rights, pro-life protestors have out numbered abortion supporters by ten to one. The protests were sparked by the Court's ruling in the ABC case which sought to overturn Ireland's ban on abortion.
